Executive/Private Chef

“Shef” grew up in and around Manhattan, NY, USA and was privy to regular doses of NYC’s finest eateries due to a family of “foodies” before that cliché even existed. He attended Johnson & Wales University studying under some of the most seasoned master Chefs south Florida has to offer.


Most recently he created the beachside raw bar at 411 South off of Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. He led the ranks with BoHo creative flair as Executive Chef for 2017's grand opening of the "hipster hotel", Lauderdale by the Sea’s, Plunge Beach Resort and her three dining experiences.


His chef career began working at local mainstay favorites such as Pa’DeGennaro’s (Lauderdale by the Sea, FL, USA) and Pilar (Aventura, FL) he broadened his expertise and production skills opening the world famous Gansevoort South Hotel (South Beach, FL) and The Blue (on the Doral Golf Course, Doral, FL).


Supplementing an already broad culinary experience, he traveled back to his home turf of the northeast to work on his international chops in the quality high profile and high volume Hamptons. His French skills honed at Pierre’s (Bridgehampton, NY); authentic training and performance exacted at Sen (the seminal Japanese/sushi establishment of the East End) and Phao (Sen’s sister restaurant and Thai hot-spot).


In his decade spanning private estate and yacht Chef tenure he has worked with some of the finest crews and Motor Yachts to grace the eastern seaboard – demonstrating his wide cultural and culinary knowledge. Known for his food presentation, grandeur, and opulence while also being flexible in ability to create delicious dishes that can healthful yet sustaining be you an omnivore or raw vegan. This discerning chef will create that interesting and finely tuned menu consisting of beautiful and sumptuous plates for you, your family and guests.


Sheffler resides in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA. He originally studied at New York University – receiving an A.A. in Liberal Arts and a B.F.A. in Film from the renowned Tisch School of the Arts.
